These neighbors know how to party and support a good cause.
For decades, neighbors from Beaver Dam, Kelsey, and Granby roads have gathered each year for a block party.
The tradition dates back to before 1996.
This year’s celebration took place Sept. 19 with the goal of building new friendships and keeping the neighborhood’s sense of community strong.
Neighbors shared a pot-luck style feast and enjoyed activities for all ages, including a pie-eating contest, bike race, water balloon toss, hay ride, and bounce house, plus a foam party for the second year running.
After expenses, all proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society and Daniel’s Table, a local non-profit that helps reduce hunger among families. This year, the neighborhood raised a total of $1,100 for these two organizations.
