Contribution Supports Organization Aimed at Helping Children
Cocotree Kids, a Natick-based nonprofit dedicated to providing new underwear to children in need, has received a $5,000 foundation grant from Dedham Savings Community Foundation in support of its annual Season of Giving campaign.
The grant will help Cocotree Kids purchase and distribute new underwear to underserved children across the region, addressing a critical yet often overlooked basic need.
Funds raised through the Season of Giving campaign support large-scale distributions to shelters, schools, and community organizations serving children experiencing housing instability, poverty, or crisis.
“We put a lot of thought into deciding where our contributions will have the most impact,” said Lauren Patt, Marketing Specialist at Dedham Savings. “When we talk about the Dedham Savings community, we mean every single one of our clients, neighbors, and local organizations who help make our community so special. We’re proud to support organizations like Cocotree Kids that are making a meaningful difference, whether next door or in the next town over.”
“In Massachusetts, one in three children experiences clothing insecurity, and more than 100,000 children ages 5–17 live at or below the poverty level without reliable access to clean underwear that fits,” said Catherine Maloy, founder and executive director of Cocotree Kids. “Support from community partners like Dedham Savings allows us to meet this essential need while expanding our reach during one of our busiest giving seasons. This grant helped us reach our goal of raising $300,000 during our Season of Giving campaign and provide underwear to 30,000 kids across Massachusetts.”

A $10 donation provides one child with a week’s worth of new underwear, while $250 supplies 175 pairs, enough for 25 children. A $350 gift can provide a full week of underwear for 100 children.
