School Committee incumbent Matt Brand will face two challengers, Donna McKenzie and Matthew J. Welch, in the only contested race in this year’s election.

The three candidates are vying for two three-year positions.

Incumbent Brand, who is seeking a third term, has stated that he is proud of the committee’s work during his tenure. He noted that in the most recent three years he has served as chairperson for the Superintendent Screening Committee which led to hiring Dr. Melissa Spash.

“I have been, and continue to be, proud of the work I was part of on the School Committee during my first two terms and hope to continue that work for another three years,’’ he said.

McKenzie said she plans to champion inclusive policies, support mental health and wellness and engage the community.

“When we stand up for all students, we build a stronger, more inclusive future,’’ she said. She said she wants to “ensure that Natick’s schools remain a place where every child has the opportunity to succeed.’’

Welch said his candidacy reflects four E’s: Evidence, experience, excellence, and everyone.

“Good decisions start with good information. Natick already has a strong school system, and I am committed to helping it grow even stronger.,’’ he said. “I bring decades of experience as a teacher, researcher, evaluator, and coach. Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, feel supported, and belong.’’

All other races are uncontested.

Incumbent Kristen Pope and newcomer Cody Jacobs are seeking re-election to the Select Board.

Andrew J. Meyer is seeking re-election to the Planning Board. Karla Hope Sangrey is on the ballot for a seat on the Board of Health. Wendy J. Curran-Elassy is vying for a seat on the Board of Assessors.
