Grant will fund new public EV charging stations
Apr 01, 2025 12:36PM ● By Kim VasseurThe Town of Natick recently received a grant from MassEVIP to install new public EV charging stations throughout the community.
This grant will replace and/or expand EV charging stations in the following public parking lots:
• Pond St (increasing to 4 ports)
• Police/Fire (increasing to 6 ports)
• Community Senior Center (2 ports)
• Cole Center (2 ports)
• East School (2 ports)
• JJ Lane (2 ports)
• Dug Pond (2 ports)
All new stations will be Autel 50AMP Level II stations (faster than the existing stations), will have retractable cords, and will require users to pay when they charge. User fees will help cover the cost of electricity and maintaining the stations moving forward, which will help make this program more sustainable long-term.
Town officials say the new stations should be installed this spring. Town officials say they hope to add stations at the high school and rail trail parking lots.
